A tribal stunner with sandy ground and beautiful abrash. Detailed yet rustic with the best pinks, some purple and gorgeous brown shades. Abundant symbols and rustic braided fringe at one side with three large central medallions and smaller, supporting medallions flanking. This weaver took pride weaving this rug, it's in the details. Layla, you've got me on my knees.

Part of our Muse Collection / Clapton wrote "Layla" with Dominos drummer Jim Gordon about his forbidden love for Pattie Boyd, the wife of his close friend George Harrison. Pattie, a popular fashion model, landed a cover of Vogue, inspired Twiggy's look, ran an antiques business, and acted in the Beatles film, A Hard Days Night, where she met Harrison. Pattie was described as "by far the most glamorous" of all the Beatles' wives and girlfriends and was the embodiment of the British look in the mid-60's . "Layla" was inspired by the classic Persian poem Layla and Manjun, which is about unrequited love, which wasn't entirely true as Clapton and Boyd married in 1979 (two years after her divorce with Harrison). Patty was the muse for Harrison's "I Need You", "If I Needed Someone", "Something", "Love You To", "For You Blue" and Clapton's "Layla", "Bell Bottom Blues" and "Wonderful Tonight".
